Late last week, I noticed I wasn't feeling too hot. I don't get sick often, so I didn't think anything of it. As the weekend was going by, I noticed I started feeling crappier and crappier. This morning, I woke up feeling like complete _____. I literally pushed myself out of bed. I barely remember walking to my 9 am class, that's how bad I felt. These little steps helped me throughout the day.

I have no words


random, I want to try this. birthday weekend??

This week has been really stressful. I feel like I was on-the-go all the time and lived at the library. This weekend, I'm going to Chicago to stay at a hotel with my family. We do it every year, and I think it is one of my favorite things we do together. This week went by really slow. I have one more class to go today and then I'm going back to my homeland, the library. I have a tough midterm tomorrow that I'm getting stressed out about. If I was in my room right about now, all of my chocolate would be gone. So I'm glad I'm not there...
Anyways, this weekend will be well-deserved. I've been working my ass off for this midterm and I just can't wait to catch up with my mom over happy hour :), be a weirdo with my siblings, and witness unecessary drama over who sleeps where in the hotel room. Also, the hotel has a redickkk gym....T.V.'s on each machine? I'm there. Oh, and I can't forget about the sauna and amazing breakfasts...Embassy Suites, I salute you. & pizzeria uno, GET IN MAH BELLAY.

go forth & set the world on fire






This weekend I went on a retreat. Signing up for it was a really great decision. It was needed for me to just get away from school and find time for myself. I went into this retreat with a 100% open heart & mind. It was so amazing to just look back on first semester and the start of this semester and see how much everything has changed. I am more confident, sure of myself, and happy. I learned a lot from all of my new friends this weekend. I am a lot like some of them and yet very different from some. I believe in different ways than some do. Hearing about their thoughts and dreams was really refreshing. I'm big on having alone time. I love just relaxing and treating myself to silence, a great relaxing playlist, or a new movie I've never seen. The main thing I learned this weekend was that I have to relax a lot more. I am very into "what's next?" and it can get too hectic at times.

After my 9 am spanish class, I decided to go to the library and study for tomorrow's test. I got my favorite drink, "Third Shift", a cinnamon scone, and greek yogurt. I sat in the "bridge" which I rarely do because it is so noisy but I wanted to go outside of my comfort zone. I'm a cubical type of girl, so this was very different for me. I have never eaten alone  in public since going here, and my friend recently pointed that out about herself. This made me want to try it out. So I sat on a comfy couch-like chair facing a window with a gorgeous view of campus and studied spanish while enjoying my delicious breakfast. While listening to a really chill playlist, I noticed how relaxed I became. My breathing was deep, my body was still, and I was focused on my studying. Also, I actually enjoyed each and every bite of my breakfast. Usually when I go to meals with friends, I look at my plate and my food is gone in an instant not realizing how fast I was eating. My goal for the rest of college is to do this same routine once a week.

HAPPY CHOCOLATE, CANDY, CUPCAKES, & LOVE DAY!

Valentine's Day is all about sweets and  the people who I love. Growing up, my mom has always left me a box of chocolates on my bed each Valentine's Day and it's sad that I wasn't home for that this year. Luckily, she sent me a packaged filled to the top with CHOCOLATE, pixie stix, cinnamon hearts, a little bear, heart socks, and a cute card. It made my day eating chocolate for breakfast! Also, today I baked cupcakes with my friends Anne Marie and Brittany. It was so nice to just take a break and devour our concoction, chocolate cake with vanilla frosting & conversation hearts on top (I put the frosting on too soon so it was a melted but delicious distaster). Valentine's Day isn't a time to be down on yourself for being lonely, single, or what not, its kind of like a Thanksgiving in that you feel thankful for those who you love in your life, but at the same time, eating a lot more chocolate.


  • Lesson of the day: Eating dessert for breakfast is good for you! It boost metabolism, keeps you awake in the morning, and is better for you because you burn it all off during the day! KEEP CALM & EAT.
