Etiquette Of A Gentleman

Etiquette Of A Gentleman
^ repeat. repeat. repeat.

I have to sadly admit, boys who are gentlmen literally make my day. Today I was walking out of my dorm to go to english & as I was walking out of the door a guy was walking into. I was speed walking, like usual, because I was running late. I almost ran into him. He was much taller than me, so as I was walking through the door, he held it open with his arm over me. I responded with a "thanks!" and he said, "you bet!". Everyone around here is usually in such a rush. The fact that he took his time to open up the door for me was so amazing. Guys who are respectful are what girls love...there just need to be more of them!!

  • Lesson of the day: Gentlemen, please, stay gentlemen.

"awwww!!!" OF THE DAY!

this has to happen to me.

keep your cool

Every Tuesday & Thursday I have a 30 minute break between my spanish and sociology classes. During this time I always watch Regis & Kelly. I really admire how confident Kelly Ripa is. She always has something hilarious to say & always turns everything into a joke. I think we all need to be less serious & not care.

^She is so not a diva!
  • Lesson of the day: Let it all go & laugh ! :P

ME FIRST!!!!

I have an awful 8 a.m. class Monday-Thursday. To get me through it, I always make myself hot tea. I change the flavor I have each day so I don't get bored. Today, I had Yogi Blueberry Green Tea. I'm obsessed with Yogi because it has inspirational quotes on each teabag. Today mine was, "the art of happiness is to serve all". This made me think a while. It is important to be there for others, but isn't your own happiness the most important of all?

My Deserving Lunch:
  • Kashi heart to heart apple cinnamon oatmeal with frozen diced mango, blueberries, & additional cinnamon
  • A organic peanutbutter & blackberry jelly sandwhich on a wheat thin

  • Lesson of the day: Put yourself first. Love yourself first.

Powerful

Last night I saw "My Week with Marilyn". I was so excited to see it because I LOVE that woman. I sometimes watch old interviews of her and noticed how beautiful she truly was. Her confidence is what every girl strives for. It's so refreshing especially because she was known for her curves. Today, many celebrities and models are skin and bones. All of the pressures with society today make us think that is the only way to be accepted. Back in September, I wrote a paper for my english class about the views of body types for women through out the years. I said that it is tragic that women have to face so much stress today about always staying a certain way in order to be accepted. I had peer review with a group of guys and I was so excited to hear their opinions about my paper. I mean, what an amazing way to find out the real truth about every girl's insecurity? I remember all of them agreed that men prefer curvy girls rather than stick thin bodies. They love hips, thighs, big boobs, anything. My favorite part of peer review was that they said men who like skinny girls are assholes who are insecure and often don't keep relationships. AMEN.

  • Lesson of the day: Be realisitic about yourself. Imperfection is beauty.
